GREENVILLE, SC December 21, 2020 – Now through Christmas Day, first responders of the upstate can receive free COVID-19 testing with results in as little as 10 minutes. Premier Medical Laboratory Services, a lab at the forefront of COVID-19 testing advancements, is introducing a rapid antigen test as an addition to offerings at their drive-thru testing site open to the public in Greenville. As the rise in cases continues just before the holidays, Premier Medical Laboratory Services is offering this test at no cost to show gratitude to first responders and to help them safeguard their families during the holidays.

“We want to make COVID-19 testing as convenient and easily accessible as possible to help keep the spread of the virus down, especially during the holidays,” said the founder of PMLS, Kevin Murdock. “As a heartfelt thank you to first responders for their service, we are providing free testing to them through Christmas Day.”

The tests being provided to first responders at the drive-thru testing site through December 25 are the rapid antigen test and the non-invasive saliva PCR test for the coronavirus. The antigen test is administered first, as results are provided within as little at ten minutes to detect SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. If a first responder receives a negative result from the rapid antigen test, the saliva PCR test will be administered as a confirmatory test and takes around 24 – 48 hours to receive results.

For those who are not first responders, testing is still recommended before visiting with family and friends and starts at $45 at the Premier Medical Laboratory Services drive-thru. For peace of mind and to protect loved ones, visit the drive-thru with the information below:
